Drive past the Village Cooperative of Billings today and you will see a very different building than the one framed up earlier this spring.
The project has now moved past another major milestone, just in time for the weather to start turning colder.
The roof is completed, windows and exterior doors are in, and siding is nearly done. Those are crucial steps in separating the interior of the building from the exterior, allowing trade partners to move inside and keep working without the weather dictating the construction schedule.
That is particularly important with Montana’s often quickly changing winter weather only a few short months away.
As the finishing touches are put on the exterior, crews are wasting no time moving forward inside. Plumbing and electrical are being finished in each of the community’s 58 units, with initial insulation installation following close behind. Each step of construction makes it a bit easier to imagine the layout and spaces that make each home unique.
The project is on track to be complete in spring 2027.
