Bar 209 has made a name for itself in Bemidji, and owners Derek and Janae Leach chose Fargo for their next location. Great States Construction is building out the 10,000-square-foot space from a blank slate at The Shops at Tillstone on 55th Avenue South, just down the road from the new Fargo Parks Sports Center.

The corner unit brings in natural light through expansive windows and features tall ceilings and an oversized bar at the center of the room. A patio overlooking a small pond will open with the restaurant this fall, with a larger patio expansion complete with outdoor TVs already planned for the 2027 season.

Despite the name, food leads the experience.

“It says bar in our name, but our focus is really on the food,” said Derek Leach.

Bar 209 is slated to open in early fall 2026.
