About the project
Sustained growth required a building that worked with Dakota Timber in Horace, North Dakota. The company focuses on producing low-impact, American-made wood products from reclaimed and salvaged lumber, making sustainability and material integrity central to the project’s design.
The new 12,300-square-foot greenfield facility brings production, order fulfillment, and a retail showroom together under one roof. The result is a space that welcomes customers into a well-known brand experience while supporting an efficient, production-focused workflow.
That commitment to the Dakota Timber brand is reflected throughout the building through the thoughtful integration of wood elements in key areas.
The most visible expressions of the brand include a signature shiplap statement wall overlooking the main showroom floor and a bold exterior defined by durable steel panels accented with natural wood elements.
While the showroom plays a prominent role, the facility was designed to function as a flexible, high-performing environment with room for future growth. Durable finishes and specialized systems, including polished concrete floors, a commercial paint booth, and a dust collection system, were incorporated to meet the demands of daily production.
The result is a building that works with Dakota Timber, not against it.
