About the project

Great States Construction transformed an unremarkable office space into something modern that reflects Bolton & Menk’s brand while supporting their commitment to sustainability.

The project started with a full interior demo. Early in construction, the team uncovered that sixteen aging heat pumps, some already failing, needed to be replaced. Rather than delay the schedule, the team was able to source and install new units quickly. The upgraded systems improve reliability while reducing energy use and long-term environmental impact.

Lighting upgrades supported that same goal. The team replaced 150 ballasted fluorescent fixtures with energy-efficient LED lighting, lowering operating costs and improving overall performance while making the space feel brighter and more comfortable for day-to-day work.

The updated layout is built around collaboration, anchored by a large curved seating area with dual displays. At the front desk, a subtle waterfall countertop adds a clean, modern touch. A wall-sized timeline featuring a photographic mural with floating elements highlights key moments in the firm’s history, adding visual interest while telling a story.

Despite the added HVAC challenges, the project was delivered in just 11 weeks, ahead of a typical 14-week schedule.
