Red River Human Services Foundation

Fargo, North Dakota

The Red River Human Services Foundation’s mission is to support people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. As the population of the surrounding area continued to increase, the organization needed a purpose-built facility that would allow their team to continue providing services to their clients.

Project planning focused on creating a space that would be easy to navigate, comfortable to use, and responsive to the needs of both clients and staff. It was important that the space not only met the needs of the organization today, but anticipated growth in the future. Modern technology and accessibility features are woven throughout the building, helping create a safe environment where individuals can focus on growth, independence, and well-being.

Public spaces like a gymnasium, an activities center, and a full commercial kitchen anchor the first floor. Above, the second and third floors provide offices and meeting spaces that give staff room to meet with clients and support the organization’s mission without distraction.

The finished building reflects the organization’s purpose, creating a thoughtful, people-focused space that supports meaningful work every day.
