Great States Construction transformed a former restaurant and bar into a modern 6,860-square-foot office for the Clay County Public Defenders. Completed in April 2025, this adaptive reuse project showcases our expertise in revitalizing existing structures for new functions. The renovation included a complete exterior refresh, with a new roof, siding, soffit, fascia, and gutters. We added additional windows and cut into the brick exterior to bring natural light into the new office spaces.

Interior renovations created efficient workspaces, private offices, and a large conference and break room designed for daily functionality. What was a former run-down restaurant is now a modernized office space. Managing exterior work through Minnesota’s winter months required careful coordination and temporary shelter solutions to maintain progress and protect the building envelope. The result is a professional environment that serves the community’s needs while extending the life of an underutilized structure.
