At Great States Construction, our team’s strength is in our people—and Project Manager Mark Singleton is no exception.

Background and Experience

Mark’s journey into construction began with a childhood fascination. Growing up, he admired his uncle, a project manager in the cities, and was drawn to the idea of building houses and shaping spaces. Mark joined Great States Construction four and a half years ago and has been an essential part of the team ever since.

When asked about the skills that have helped him succeed, Mark says, “It all comes down to open communication, staying organized, and being honest with everyone involved.” For him, these values are the foundation of every successful project, keeping both his team and clients aligned.

“You get what you inspect. Not what you expect.”

As a Senior Project Manager, Mark’s day revolves around keeping construction projects on track. He begins each day by identifying potential roadblocks and finding solutions to maintain momentum on-site. “It’s all about keeping construction going, solving any issues that come up, and ensuring the team has everything they need to get the job done,” he says.

One of the biggest challenges he faces is coordinating the right people in the right place at the right time. Balancing logistics, accountability, and advanced planning is no easy feat, but Mark’s steady approach keeps things running smoothly.

Highlights of Recent Projects

Among the many projects he’s worked on, Mark especially enjoyed leading builds for various restaurants. The pace of these fast-moving projects fuels his energy and keeps him sharp. “I love the speed and the organized chaos of it,” Mark shares.

Future Outlook

Looking ahead, Mark is excited about Great States Construction’s expansion and the project pipeline. He’s eager to see the company take on even larger, more complex builds and continue its upward trajectory.

Life Outside of Work

When he’s not managing projects, Mark is trying new restaurants,  golfing at the Moorhead Country Club, and cheering on his favorite team as a dedicated Vikings fan.

With his background, dedication, and down-to-earth approach, Mark plays an invaluable role at Great States Construction, setting the standard for project management and teamwork.
